My Internship Colleague - Part 2

Now, is time to introduce my three and half month’s intern’s friends!!!

There are six of us, four from UTAR and 2 from KTAR.

Lin Yee, Pei Wen and I are classmate while Sook Ping from Year 3 Sem 1 Graphic Design student from PJ.  Bernice and Carrie the multimedia students from KTAR, they are cute and funny. 

Lin Yee, Pei Wen and I were under Marketing Department. Our task in the office is to promote and sell courses to the relevant people and company.  So we need to make a lot of calls every day. We need to get 30 successful calls. 30 successful calls mean, the email address that they provided were reachable, the phone number can direct to the person in charge of Training or to the related personnel. 30 calls seem easy, but it is hard to get exact email address and the right person to talk to. Most of the time the email bounced back and we need to contact them again and again. Sometimes, we get scolded by the people. There is a lot more different situation to face on. Anyhow, it’s over and I’m totally free now.  Our job functions include making appointment and following up the client’s needs. If the clients request us to do a quotation then we have to discuss with our manager and prepare a proposal for them. If the company approves our proposal we will go and meet with them for further discussion. For your information, I am having my intern in a Training House, named IDC Training House. IDC stands for Interest, Desire and Commitment, but some of the people like to make fun of the name to I DON’T CARE.  Yup, that’s the reverse meaning of the Training house name.

Sook Ping who was under IT department, she is the one who helps the company to design the leaflets, handouts, webpage design, etc. Everything about design was under her. Sometimes, she needs to rush those leaflets for us because the clients need it in the evening or the next day. She gets frustrated once a while because she need not only rush for few leaflet in time but also the webpage of the company. How pity was she, and she said she won’t be doing this when she graduate.

Bernice, also under IT department and her job functions same as Sook Ping’s but the difference were, she do not need to do leaflets and she needs to help in Events and Decoration department to deliver leaflets and do some decorations thingy. 

Here, comes to the creative director, Carrie! Wow, she is amazing in doing hand craft using the left over papers, boxes, etc. She actually made us a lot of small tiny things like frog, Chinese New Year decoration, ribbons, swam, etc…. There are a lot more for me to recall. She is under the Events and Decoration department, and she need to be creative! 

During the three and half months, or working life in IDC Training House was amazing and the story to be continue…
